0.0 Introduction
Compcmap is a little utility that compares the CMAPs (ie. the palettes)
of two pictures so that you can see how they differ. This program works
with IFF picture files (ILBM type) so it is compatible with all your
other Amiga software.
1.0 Running Compcmap
Compcmap can only be run from the CLI (this will probably be fixed soon).
There are two ways of invoking it. First just typing:
compcmap
will result in the copyright notice, short instructions, and the version
number being printed. By typing a command of the following format:
compcmap pic.A pic.B
Compcmap will compare the palettes of picture A and picture B. The table
that is produced shows (from left to right) the colour in picture A,
the nearest colour in picture B (the one my Recolor program would use),
the errors between these two colours for the red (r), green (g), and
blue (b) components, and finally the sum of the squares of these errors.
2.0 Support
Any comments, suggestions, or bug reports you might care to make will be
gratefully received. If you are interested in seeing this program improve
much send a contribution ($10-$20 to me at the address above). My current
policy on improving the program is to release a new version for every 5
contributions I receive, or when I need a new feature!
